LEARNING OUTCOME
read,write and count numbers upto 20.
tell the value of tens and ones in a given number upto 20.

Now lets understand the concept of tens and ones.

• Take ice cream sticks.Count 10 sticks and make a bundle.This becomes 1 ten

• Now a bundle of 10 (1 ten) and 1 single stick is called by the name 11 or eleven. So 1 ten and 1 one make eleven.

• In the same way a bundle of 10 (1 ten) and 2 sticks is called by the name 12 or twelve.So 1 ten and  2 ones make twelve.

• Repeat this way up to 19

• Now you make two bundles of 10 (2 tens). It becomes 20 or twenty.

• So 2 tens is 20.

Ten pencils ---------1 ten ----------say 1 ten

Ten icecream sticks ----------1 ten --------------say 1 ten

Ten cars or balls -----------1 ten -------------say 1 ten
